課程概述

台灣是全球老化第一快速的國家，面對此一重要的變化，相關的健康議題逐漸受到重視。本課程主旨在於讓同學們了解老化及常見老年疾病相關之流行病學研究及相關議題。同學們將閱讀重要的老人議題文獻，課程前半堂以老師講授為主，同學接著對於指定的文獻進行評論及檢視各議題之流行病學研究方法、老年疾病相關議題。希望本課程能將老化及老年疾病的議題應用到公共衛生實務上。
Taiwan has the fastest aging rate in the world. While encountering this important change, relevant health topics become important. The goal of this course is to let students understand the epidemiologic studies and related topics on aging and common diseases in the elderly. Students will read essential literatures in relation to the elderly. In general, the first half of each lecture will provide an overview of a specific topic and the latter half will be literature discussion and critique. Taken together, this course aims to explore topics related to aging and elderly diseases for public health practice.

3) 學習評論及報告老化、老年疾病相關文獻 (碩H; 博D)
Students are expected to
1) Understand the contemporary health issues related to aging and geriatric–related diseases (MS: B; PhD: I)
2) Equip the basic ability to do geriatric research (MS: CH; PhD: I)
3) Establish the ability to critique and present the paper on aging and geriatric diseases (MS: H; PhD: D) 
課程要求
 英文文獻的閱讀能力，文獻搜尋的基本能力。
Students should have the ability of English reading and literature search.
